amey guests

If you've been lucky enough to have been invited to Cowes Week as a guest of Amey, the following information should help you to get the most out of your time with us, on and off the water.

Cowes Week is the longest-running, regular regatta in the world. Each year, yachts and crew compete for 8 days for some of the most prestigious prizes in the sport. The Solent is a unique piece of water characterised by its tides and challenges and during the week it is filled with 950+ racing boats and 2-300 spectator boats. It gives even the most experienced helmsman and crew plenty of excitement and problems to solve.

The Amey Love Shack, a Beneteau 40.7, was launched in August 2004 and had instant success in Cowes Week, winning two races outright and finishing third overall. This year we are looking to improve on that, which means all hands on deck!

A typical day will start at 9am with an on-board briefing before racing at 10.30am. Each race lasts a heart-pumping, action-packed, adrenalin-fuelled 4 hours. By the time your feet are back on land you will be tired and most probably bumped and bruised; but with the adrenalin still pumping through your veins you will be ready to tackle the social side of the day - which at Cowes is just as important as the sport!

Please note that we will be competitively racing during the day and will require your help in crewing the boat around the course. Wet weather and safety gear will be provided, but please do remember to bring some warm clothes and deck shoes or trainers.

We are very much looking forward to having you on board!
